~Calling All Flaunt Participants In Fridays RED Party~

This is a quick post to inform all of the participants of Fridays Flaunt Your Red Party~Bo has ask me to pick another winner for the blog makeover....She enjoys changing her look often..and I do understand that!!!!!!
So y'all get another chance~!
Any of the participants, in the first Flaunt Your Red Friday, that would like to enter the new drawing for the blog makeover...Please leave me a comment on this post only...stating that you do want to enter the drawing. Again each name will be entered 2 times.
You will have until 7:00 AM Monday Morning to post your comment here. Some time Monday I will do the new drawing for those that enter.
The reason I am doing it this way is....I do understand that some of you like to change your header from time to time; some of you have already done the makeovers; and some of you have makeovers in the making. This way someone will win the makeover that wants it.

~Y'all Got It And Y'all Flaunted It~

Y'all showed up and out to Flaunt Your RED for the first ever Flaunt Your RED party! I am so excited about the response I have received from this RED thing...I have enjoyed reading every post, every comment and every email!!! There are several more that want to join in the next time and your are so welcome to do just that! It was evident to me that so many gals love RED! You love to wear it, decorate with it and if you've got it; why not Flaunt it! I even saw a beautiful, red water sport Jet Ski.....did y'all see that!!! Y'all blew me away ....I saw so many unique, gorgeous, warm, radiant, REDS...that I think I will compose a post of all my favorite REDS, this coming week. I offered two giveaways to kick off this party....there were a total of 27 entries for the RED party....and I told you each name would be entered 2 times that makes a total of 54....I tried to think of the easiest way to do this drawing so here is what I came up with....I hope I don't confuse anyone! I chose Custom Random Number Generator. I also wanted to keep every blogger in the order of their entry.
The first giveaway is the Blog Makeover by Tara and it goes to number 2....Now remember each blogger gets 2 entries...so number 2 is actually Bo........Bo was number 1 and 2.....Melissa Miller was number 3 and 4....Stacey was number 5 and 6......Tardevil was 7 and 8...Terri was 9 and 10....Melissa was 11 and 12....Penny was 13 and 14.....You get the idea....SO.....congradulations BO at Blinks N Winks From Brown Eyes.....YAY!!!!....You are the winner of giveaway number 1 which is a Blog Makeover by Tara. Tara will be expecting to hear from you.

Giveaway number 2 is the RED surprise!

Random Generator picked number 12 ....that is Melissa at Little Things In Life! Congratulations to Melissa! I hope you like your RED surprises! You'll have to wait to see what they are, when they arrive... ;) I have no idea where this idea for a surprise is coming from...because I can not keep a secret...lol ! I think you will love them! I will need you to send your address to my email...on my profile page. :)

I hope I have not confused you all by the way I chose to do this drawing. It seemed less time consuming to do it this way.
Mark your calendars~The next Flaunt Your RED Friday will be March the 27th. We will have these RED party's the last Friday of every month! It's not to early to start thinking about them, I know y'all will come up with some beautiful ideas! One more note....some of you emailed and commented that you have more of a wine/burgundy red, and that is absolutely fine to Flaunt! I would love to have you join in the fun too!
I will be doing a RED giveaway every season...4 times a year....I will call this giveaway the Winter Giveaway. The next giveaway will be The Spring Giveawy in April. There will be a twist with this giveaway that will be announced later....Y'all will looooove it!!!!!! Okay...I'll give you a hint....You will want to make sure you enter as many Flaunt Your RED Fridays as possible....it might just help you have a better chance at winning.
I am pretty sure...I got around to everyone and thanked you for joining the fun! However, I want to thank you all again! I was so worried no one would show up, but you did! Y'all have blessed my life this week!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

Please talk about me in your post..but be kind..you know I will be reading it...lol ;) Tell your readers what you are doing and link to this post so they can join in the fun as well! Just make sure you take my Flaunt Your Red Button {on the sidebar} and post it on your RED post with a link back to here. Then come back here and sign up on Mr. Linky....Use only your first name when linking up with Mr. Linky...this keeps Mr. Linky working correctly. Then let the good times roll..... start Flaunting Your Red with the participants. Joining a party is fabulous way to meet new bloggers...so come on and join the fun! ;)

For this party, I thought I would show you some of my kitchen reds.

This is a metal urn that I found at Hobby Lobby for 80% off...a bargain for $5.00. I did change out the knob on the top. It did have a brown knob...but now it is styling with black and white.

A red lamp that sits on the counter.

My~ cost way to much clock~ that I fell in love with at Southern Market a couple years back. It's so french and and for what it cost, it will have to become a family heirloom...lol ;)

Rooster salt and pepper shaker set....a bargin for $3.00. Mishebe,I know you will love these, and I will sell them to you for.... $$$$$ HMMMM????

See this one little lonely canister....There is a story behind it....I was looking around on that auction website..y'all know the one....I found this adorable, gorgeous, french country, must have canister set. Buuuut it was $75.00 for the set of 3. Waaaay out of my budget....but I put it on watch...and I watched and watched and watched....hoping that my money tree would start to produce some fruits....in the mean time....I was out and about one day, and I took a detour into Big Lots {I have to take that detour alot} while in there, just looking around.....I couldn't believe my eyes!!!! There it set! All three pieces! Just like the set on E*** The pieces were each separate...and the price for all 3 pieces $18.00. Well, I was thrilled to find it...but even more thrilled that I had not bought the whole set on line....It was actually a lot smaller then what I would have been happy with...so after seeing it, I decided I really didn't want all 3 pieces...I just bought the smaller of the 3 to keep splenda in. As soon as I returned home...I emailed that seller and told them I had found that whole set at Big Lots for waaaaay less then they were asking for it. I never heard anything from the seller...but they did delete the listing.

A beautiful Kitchen Aid knife set...but that's all it is...Beautiful! Don't waste your money buying this set....They're not that sharp!

However, on the other hand this Kitchen Aid toaster is a jewel! I love this thing! I know people that don't even own a toaster....how do you live without a toaster...if I had to broil everything...it would be sad thing! Everything would be burnt!

Last but not least, an adorable little red colander. Given to me by Momma! I use this thing almost daily. It's the perfect size for so many foods that need a quick wash.
Well, have I Flaunted My Reds?! I sure hope I have and I hope you enjoyed seeing a few of them. I have enough REDS to Flaunt in a few more posts...so I have posted a poll on my sidebar. Please take the time to vote. Maybe we will do this again. I am thinking about asking some of you, if you would like a chance to host Flaunt Your Reds Party from time to time...so Let me know if that is something you would like to do. You can email me or tell me in your comment.

I want to thank Stacey at Poofing the Pillows for the wonderful idea and I want to thank each one of you for your participation!! I am so honored that you all have linked up! I have received several emails and comments about this RED thing...Your kind words have brought tears to my eyes! Words can't express the feeling I have in my heart for you gals! You all have brought so much warmth and inspiration to me, and I want you all to know that I am so grateful!
I think RED is a popular color that so many of us use all year long, I can see this Flaunt Your Red lasting for a long time. It has been a pleasure to host such a fun party and I look forward to doing it again.

Make sure you visit with the gals that have linked up! Party until you drop!

Instructions for linking up~
Here is a quick check list if you want to sign up~ 1. Grab the Flaunt Your Red button in the top right sidebar. 2. Copy and paste it in your post. 3. Let your readers know where the party is. 4. Come back here and link up using your first name only and use only the your post link for the RED post...not a direct link to your blog! Please do not put your blog name in the name spot....Mr. Linky tends to have problems if there is too many words in that name spot....so please advise...first name only. If you are deleted from the Mr. Linky...then please come back here and read the directions again. It's a Mr. Linky thingy....not my thingy ;) Doing all of the above will put your name (2 times) into the blog makeover giveaway or the Red Surprise giveaway. Let me know in your comment what giveaway you want to enter. There have been a couple of you that have had problems with the button...and you have told me that already...don't worry...You will still be entered.

Just come back and re-link.

~Living With Color 2~

Let's talk Blue~ Blue symbolizes constancy and truth. It brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to the spirit. Blue brings with it the promise of heaven and the depth of the sea. Many cultures have used blue as protection against evil forces and as a healing color. Viewing the color blue has a calming effect. Blue reduces blood pressure, heartbeat and respiration slow down.
Darker blues carry the message of leadership and authority. Medium and grey-blue appear sincere. Pastel blues appear delicate and ethereal. Electric blues are active and playful, energizing and youthful.

The pictures above and below came from The O at Home Magazine. This is Jenn's Blue Room in her home...You can view the article and her home here. This is what Jenn said about the Blue Room. Jenn refers to her den as the Blue Room. Painting the ceiling the same color as the rug or the floor makes the room feel like an embrace. Connect indoor and outdoor spaces by using the same color scheme in both, as Jenn does here with the blues on her patio and in her den.Different heights of similar items, such as these two blue-and-white china vases, move the eye around the room. When she doesn't need extra seating, Jenn adds a vase- and beverage-steadying tray to this ottoman and calls it a coffee table.
I have to say that when I saw Jenn's house on the Oprah show and when I saw it in the O at Home Magazine, it was one house I have never forgotten, and...I was ready to put Blue back into my house! I think that Jenn used the color blue perfectly!!!! If you have a chance run over there and check out Jenn's home it is Gorgeous!!!!!

Decorating with blue: Blue is recommended anywhere you prefer quiet and serenity. Dark blues can be perfect in dens, home offices and libraries where quiet thought is required. Warm blues can be hospitable in dens and family rooms. Pale blues are refreshing in bathrooms, but should be balanced with warm accents to avoid feeling chilled. Blue is a relaxing choice for a bedroom.

Love the way green was used with blue above. Green is a great color to use with blue, after all, green comes from blue and yellow. The Yellow adds the pop of warmth and brightness, after all doesn't the sun do the same thing when we look up the beautiful blue sky. Yellow is a great companion color for blue.

Blue and white Porcelain is the perfect choice of accessories to use if you love blues! You can mix and match these patterns and they all work so beautifully together!

If blue is your favorite color: You are both trusting and trust-worthy. Although you may appear confident, you can be vulnerable because of your deep sensitivity to the needs of others. You form strong attachments and are deeply hurt if your trust is betrayed. You are harmonious, serene, patient, persevering, even-tempered and reliable. You prefer a close circle of friends to a wide range of acquaintances. You can be a perfectionist because of your highly developed sense of responsibility.

Blue and white is always right, but look at how color can add possibilities to the blue. I loved this picture because to me it shows a
perfect color combination when using blue. Blue can sometimes be a hard color to combine with a companion, but here it all works so well!

Look at this bedroom....doesn't it say rest, peace, tranquility, and heaven!? Blue and white can be crisp and clean or dreamy and serene. Blue is a color that you can mix different patterns with...notice in this room they have used stripes, florals, and checks!

Look at this hallway...notice how everything pops against the blue walls, but it still maintains a serene feeling thanks to the blue.

I love how in this dining room they have taken a rather elegant table and chairs and countrified {is that even a word?} it with the blue. Notice the blue plaid on the chairs...I guarantee that blue plaid didn't come on those chairs ;)
This one is for all you blue and brown fans~ It is not one of my favorite combinations, however I like how they used it in this bedroom with adding the purple accent. I loooove the brown...just not with the blue so much, but that's me. My son's room is blue and brown, but that maybe changing soon...I've never been sold on those two colors together. The blue and brown is more of a trend color combination, here today and gone tomorrow~However:
Blue has some great companion colors that work so beautifully with it.... Green, Yellow, and Purple....and I love to pair blue and red together as well! These are the colors combinations that never go out of style.....Blue and yellow has been around for as long as I can remember, and still going strong!

I want to note that all of the pictures came from Country Living, BHG, and Oprah. Some of the info I have used about Blue came from a wonderful website I have recently discovered called Decorating Secrets Girls, this is one great place!

Moving on~ I had to end with 3 of my favorite pictures! All 3 of these pictures came from CountryLiving.com

The blue you see in these pictures above and below are very subtle. I love how the yellow is the dominant color and blue was used as the accent.
This picture above is my DREAM bedroom! {For Now} It is featured in the current issue of Country Living Magazine.

I could see my self living in this blue house! Isn't it the cutest! It almost looks too perfect! Someone that lives in this blue house definitely has a green thumb!

Well, if your like me, you're are ready to add some blue to your home, and guess what? I did! Yes sir reeeeeee! Yesterday, while out and about, I made a quick stop by KARM...{that's a thrift store here in Knoxville} and look what caught my eye. Better yet, they didn't break the bank...at $.99 each I could pass them up.They are not all the big and grand, but I will use them for lots of different things I'm sure.

I know y'all are thinking, how much longer is this post.....But I had to give you a quick update on these two~

After I returned home yesterday~ I looked out side to check on these two sweeties, and just look at how hard they had been working on "feathering their nest" That's right, they had wore themselves out tearing their beds apart! When I first looked out....they were past out asleep on top of all their "feathering" ;)But they are still the cutest things I have ever seen!!!!!! Just look at them begging for a treat!

Don't forget about the Flaunt Your Red Party on Friday! Grab the button on my side bar...way up at the top...from where you are now...lol :) We will party until we drop ;) If you want to know more about it...please read the 2 post below....Everyone is welcome! Oh, and there is going to be 2 giveaways...1. the blog makeover by Tara...and 2. a surprise RED giveaway for those of you that don't want or need a blog makeover :) YAY!

Hope you all are having a wonderful day...and I'll shut up now ;)

Edited~ I have to complain for a min. here......I have been trying to comment some of the wonderful blogs that I enjoy visiting!!! However, some have the word verification on. Either my computer or Blogger or google is having some problems...I don't know which one....but the letters for the word verification are not popping up at all...so therefore...it will not accept my comment. It is very easy to go in and take that verification off...you just need to go to you comment settings to do it! Several have done that, including myself and to my knowledge no one has had any problems. I really don't know why it is even there....maybe just to torcher us from time to time... ;) I wanted you all to know..that I have been trying to leave you a comment but have been having a problem. Please think about taking the word verification off your comment settings.... :0) Nancy

~A New Me and Kitty Decor~

You might be wondering what has happened to the Southern Lady...well...
It's still me girls! So, why is there a new name up there???? Well, several years ago, my hubby bought me this pillow...he knows I have always loved birds! This pillow has become one of my favorite! Home is my hearts nesting place! There is no place like my nesting place and it is where my heart dwells! I'm sure you all feel the same way about your nests! Now, you know where the new name came from. If you have been on my profile page..then you have seen another blog with this name and url....however that is just a testing blog...I have thought about changing over to it...so that I would have the same url and name...but I was so afraid of loosing all of you, that I just decided to stay here. There is no need for all of you to change the way you have me listed.. the url is still the same. If I ever do change over to the other url...I will let you all know...but that will involve some major time and work, so for now I will be nesting right here.
What do y'all think about my new look? Was I thinking Spring or what when I picked out this kit? A few weeks ago, I entered Beth's Blog Makeover Giveaway, and to my surprise I was one of the winners. I was so excited and couldn't wait to get started on it! Tara is so talented and I love how she pulled this together!!! Tara told me I was her most challenging makeover...I can't imagine why... ;) Tara was so patient with me and understanding of all my questions. I have to also say, that she nailed this make over! When she was finished...she emailed me and told me to let her know if I wanted to make any changes...there was only one change I wanted her to do...I thought this makeover couldn't have gone more perfect! Thank you Beth at Heading Toward My Destiny for such a wonderful giveaway and thank you Tara for the Gorgeous Makeover!!!!! If any of you are thinking about doing a makeover, go by and visit with Tara...she has tons of kits and will work with you to come up with what you want.
I want to add that we are not finished with the links/navigation in the header...those will be filling up in days to come.

~Kitty Decorates with RED~

Kitty Bartholomew, one of Americas best television decorators! She has done some amazing things, and when I say she has done....that's what I mean...she has done them! I remember watching her get into the projects...what ever they were, she got in there and tackled the challenge! I know she is missed on television by many including me! This is not my first post on Kitty, and probably won't be my last! I am always doing research on her...trying to find out what she is up to. I came across a website that I have never seen before KathyPrice.com~ first, I was so excited to find this interview that Kathy had done with Kitty, then I started looking around on Kathy's website and I feel in love with it. Kathy Price-Robinson is an award-winning California-based journalist who specializes in writing stories about homes, design and real remodels. She has toured and written articles about more than 500 remodeled homes in the past 16 years. She also co-authored Kitty's Decorating book with her.

Kitty's cape code cottage in Santa Monica. It was originally all white inside when Kitty bought this Jewel in the rough.

Just look at those floors! Also, check out the fireplace wall~ see all the white around the fireplace.....well, Kitty took care of that! She removed and removed all the white....and what was underneath....Beautiful Wood!!

Look at that fireplace wall now! All Kitty did after she stripped the paint off was use her favorite product ~ Briwax Don't you love how Kitty uses RED!? Kitty loves RED ...so I thought these would be some great pictures to show for RED!

This is Kitty's "Winter time look" but check out the picture below.....

This is the Summer look~ don't you love that blue and yellow toile! She just changes the slip covers...everything else stays the same. Here is a close up of the fireplace. This is a Faux Marble technique she painted to look like marble.

The master bedroom....great shape...just need the Kitty touch! She turned that odd ceiling shape into something gorgeous and perfect for Kitty! She added a dutch door and window to the back wall. She added a fireplace set in between the two windows. That's Kitty and Spot on the bed.

Close up of the ceiling.

Hallways are always a challenge to decorate! I still have one that doesn't have one thing in it.
She added some wall paper, rug and furniture that could function in this hallway. I know this was probably done when wallpaper was big...but doesn't it still look good! Question here~ Is wall paper coming back? I don't think I would ever use it again...except maybe in a small bathroom....what do you all think? I have heard some discussions about this wallpaper thing...In some places it is making a comeback....time will tell!

More white!! Of course she put her touch in this kitchen too!

She tore out the built in stove and cabinets on this side and replace them with a vintage stove and antique hutch....I remember when she featured this kitchen re-design on her show! I remember her taking us around shopping for vintage stoves.

The other side of the kitchen~she removed the cabinet doors~ The colorful dishes help to brighten the kitchen. ~ I love to decorate with color...that's just me! I could never go all white or all neutral. I have seen it around, and I love to look at it, but would never want it.

Oh so cozy!

It's hard to see in this picture, but those are black hard wood floors that came out of another Santa Monica home that was being torn down.

I call this The Perfect Pantry! I would loooove to have my pantry looking like this! Check out those red check walls!

More kitchen storage!

The Dining Room~ Charming, but white Until.......

Kitty got a hold of it! What a difference the shelves, color and fabric made.

What to do with a 1930's bathroom? Kitty knows!

With little budget, Kitty did a fix up to be proud of! Look at what she did, added wallpaper, accessories and furniture! I do wonder if Kitty still lives in this house...and what is going on with her these days.

One of the things I love about Kitty's decorating is that she always says to use what you have! Not only does she say it, but she does it! I love the way she uses color and isn't afraid of using it! She doesn't care what the new coming style is...she has her own style! That's the way I hope to be! Who can even afford to change their decor every time styles change anyway...and I have to tell ya, some of the styles and color combinations that come in...they go out as quickly as they come in! Stay with what you love! Stay with what works for you! You don't have to change colors and styles, just add to what you already have.

I want to add that I did send Kathy a email asking for her permission to use these pictures...as of yet, I have not heard from her...so please know that these pictures did come from her website. KathyPrice.com

~Coming on Monday, I will be showing you some of my REDS in my home~

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We are taking Hoss and Lucy to get baths and nail clippings! They are doing great and growing! I will be around to visit with all you tonight and tomorrow. Thank you all for all the visits! Blessings to you all, Nancy

~Living With Color 1~

The next few weeks, I want to explore living with color. Trend decoraters may say that color is out, but I say color never went out! Many people stay with neutrals because that is their safety zone...but I hope to give you some color confidence over the next few weeks, and take that step out of your comfort zone. Color will set the mood in a room....it will energize, enlighten, calm or inspire. . Thinking about color choices are a personal preference, sometimes it can be a hue of a color you simply love. A hue of a memory,{such as a wedding color, a favorite dress color, a childhood bedroom color}, a hue of a fabric color, a favorite flower color, or a tone from your favorite season. It can be a way a color makes you feel...such as energized, calm, romantic, happy, or peaceful. With out a doubt, you have a favorite color...maybe a color you are drawn to, you like to wear that color a lot, you always pick items of that color....Your home is a canvas for you to create your domestic artistry~ Let's talk RED. Red is 1 of 3 primary colors. Red is a primary color because it can not be mixed from any other colors.

Red will radiate warmth and energize any room. Accessorise with Red. Red will put that POP into decor. Don't you love this kitchen?!

Red is the color of life itself. In nature it is the color of attraction...red male cardinals draws the attention of the female; red flowers draw the hummingbirds.

Red is a warm welcoming color.Red in the kitchen is more stimulating for the appetite; more energizing. In this white kitchen the red adds the warmth.

In this kitchen red adds the interest and energy.

Red is dramatic.....

But red is also elegant and luxurious.

Love the touches of Red in this bedroom. Very feminine with a little masculine touch at the foot of the bed ;)

Just a little red will radiate warmth.

Love the touches of the red in this bathroom!
It takes confidence to decorate with RED. It is a color that can go from masculine to feminine; modern to country and everything in between. Red is a color of warmth and interest! I hope you have learned a little about red and that you will incorporate a little red into your own style. Next week we will talk Jewels.
News: I will not be posting the again until the end of the week. I am undergoing a blog make over that I won in Beth's giveaway at I am heading towards my destiny. Thank you so much to Beth for this fantastic giveaway! I am very excited about this change and can not wait until it is finished. Tara will be working on this transformation over the next couple of days; so please excuse any construction dust...lol ;) One more piece of news...I am updating my blog list...trying not to miss anyone! Some of the blogs I watch and some of the blogs I had on my list on my blog were not the same. I will be working on fixing this for the next few days and if I miss anyone...please let me know! I am sure I will make a mess out of it..lol :)
Edited Note: Most of the pictures came from Country Living and BHG. Speaking of Country Living...have y'all seen the new Country Living Magazine this Month?! It is fantastic, they have a new editor and I am proud to say she is from the South! I love y'all Northern Babes too! I don't know if they are planning to go more cottage country or not...but If they are going more towards the style they have this month...I'm signing up! Grab you a copy of it! It won't disappoint!

Blessings to you all, Nancy

~Chocolate Coconut Candy~

Here's a candy recipe that you will love, if you like coconut. A friend of mine made me this candy back at Christmas, and I told her I had to have the recipe! The first time I ate this stuff....I almost made myself sick :( I ate so much. I made some on Valentines Day to give to my Valentines... ;) I forgot to take pictures of every step....you see, My son had some of his friends (like 20 of them) over when I was making this candy....I couldn't think clearly with all them youngins around, so that's why I forgot to take some of the pictures. lol :)
This was all that was left, by the time I remembered to take pictures of the finished recipe. ;)
Not all the ingredients are pictured here...so here is the list
14 oz bag of coconut
1 stick of softened butter {not melted}
1 and a 1/2 boxes of powdered sugar
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 bag of milk chocolate chips
1 bag of dark chocolate chips
1/2 of paraffin block.
Start with your bag of coconut and add the softened butter.

I just went ahead and used my hands.....so that the butter and coconut was mixed good....that's the best way to do it! :) Oh, and then you get to lick you fingers off....Yummy!!! Then....

Add your 1 1/2 boxes of sugar and your sweetened condensed milk and mix well.

Then form any size balls...I used this scooper to help...I like to keep my balls bite size. You will not want to use your hands to form the balls...trust me....it just doesn't work well.

This will make tons! I did not count them but I would guess 60-70. It will depend on the size of balls you form.

Cover and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

When you are ready to cover them with chocolate....
Melt you 1/2 of paraffin block in a double boiler or your bowl placed over boiling water.
When paraffin block in melted.............
Add both bags of chocolate chips and melt...then dip your coconut balls into the chocolate.....let set of wax paper until set....just take a few mins.
You can store these at room temp or in the fridge. I like them cold....I just like the consistency of them better cold.

There you have it....Very easy and sooooo goooood! :) I know I will be making these again and again! They were a big winner here!
I hope every one had a Lovely Valentines Day. Love and Blessings to you all, Nancy

~Run To Big Lots, Y'all~

Big Lots is having a fantastic sale on all their pictures/prints this week only, girls!~ 50% off the original price. Just look what caught my eye....does this even look like something that would come from Big Lots? No Way HOS'A! {Am I spelling Hos'a right? or is it Hosea...I don't know, I don't care ...y'all know what I mean} It is a gorgeous 34x28 painting. It was the only one of its kind I found at the Big Lots I went to, but the man that got it down for me said they had been selling them like crazy this week. Click on the pictures to see the details. Why would they be selling them like crazy? Well.....
$20 was the price on this beauty, but remember the 50% off sale.....that's right I got this gorgeous painting for $10 a 34x28 Y'all!!!! For $10....I don't think I could have found it that cheap at a yard sale..lol :)

When I seen it, I knew exactly where I would put it.....This picture just wasn't working in this spot....but it will work for me in another room. This is an area, just as you enter the kitchen.
Just looks like it was made for this wall! The colors go so good with the kitchen and the great room!

Now, I am off to check out some more Big Lots in town...lol ;) And speaking of Big Lots, Have y'all seen the gorgeous furniture they are selling these days....I was in shock! When we walked in the door...they had a gorgeous French Country Bench with the cushions...and I mean gorgeous..for a great price too....I know it would have cost double what they were pricing it for, some where else! Girls, they do have some beautiful wall decor so if you are in need of some, find your nearest Big Lots and check them out!
I am happy with this change! And to think it came from Big Lots....sh...sh...sh don't tell anyone.... ;)
Hope y'all are having a great week! The weather around here has been perfect....just makes me wonder what's around the corner...here in East TN, this time of the year...you can have 70 degrees one week and the next week you could have snow on the ground.....I'll just take the 70's and be thankful when I get them, I guess!
Y'all be good, well, try to be good! Blessings, Nancy

~Comfort Food For Cold Winter Days~

About the only good thing I can think of when it comes to Winter is the comfort food that feels our home~ One of the best foods to make on a cold Winter day is homemade bread! Oh, and the smell of bread baking is a delight! You don't even have to be hungry...but when the aromas of baking bread feels the home ...you just can't wait to butter it up and enjoy! I know this is nothing new to y'all, but I hope to send you a little comfort to get you through the cold days of Winter~
Everyone has their own special way for making potatoes, but around here sour creme and butter is the order~

This has become our favorite meal for this Winter....Hot Roast Beef Sandwich....so good!
TIP~ When I look for a Roast...I always buy one big enough to get 3 meals out of it. First meal~ I do the traditional roast with potatoes and carrots
Second meal ~ I do the hot roast beef sandwiches or Beef & Noodles and the Third Meal~ I make homemade Vegetable Soup with the left over beef and gravy~
This saves a lot of money and it makes it EASY for me, These are quick and delicious meals...that you just can't beat with a ten foot pole...as my Mom always says....lol ;)

Good News~Tomorrow Wed. Feb. 4~ I will be the featured blog on Secrets in the Sauce~ I am so excited to be getting this chance. SITS is a fantastic blog that features a blog everyday. If you haven't ever been to visit with the Sits girls...then don't wait any longer! Go over there and read all about them! Heather and Tiffany are great gals! To visit them you can click on their button on my side bar, or the link above.

Then all you faithfuls I haven't forgotten you either! I am making my way around slowly but surely!
What I am up to this week~ Cleaning! Trying to get a few things cleaned out and organized~ Mission impossible~! I have a couple of craft projects I am working on, but it is a slow process for me! I have come to 2 conclusions....1. don't turn on the putter until everything is done for the day! and 2. There just isn't enough hours in the day! Next, I have to brag a little here...I am working on two internet decorating consultations right now and let me tell you....I am loving it!!!! What a joy to work on these! They are both going to be fabulous! I am so thankful for these ladies giving me the opportunity to help them! I don't {think} I will be posting again until the weekend....I just have so many things going on right now!

Hoss now weighs 26 lbs and Lucy weighs 24 lbs....I can't believe how big they are now! They are loosing that puppy look so fast! I do appreciate all of the questions about them!
